Katherine M. Whipple, M.D.

Cosmetic and Reconstructive Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon

Katherine M. Whipple, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Oculofacial Plastic Surgery.

After completing her residency in ophthalmology at the University of California San Diego where she earned several research and academic honors and was named Chief Resident in 2010, Dr.

Whipple spent an additional two years to complete a prestigious and highly sought after fellowship in Orbital and Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.  This fellowship is approved by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and is highly specialized, graduating only approximately 15 physicians nationwide each year.

The fellowship exposed Dr. Whipple in depth to every part of orbital, lacrimal, and eyelid surgery, including learning the very latest techniques.  This included advanced training in aesthetic techniques and rejuvenation treatments.  During her fellowship, she completed thousands of reconstructive and aesthetic surgeries.  She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, published numerous chapters, presented internationally at scientific meetings, and even developed a novel technique to rejuvenate the aging eyebrows.  She is well respected by her colleagues and looked up to by the residents she trained, even receiving the Teacher of the Year Award during her fellowship.

With exciting opportunities to practice all over the country, Dr. Whipple decided to do what she dreamed of doing since she was young.  She chose to return to her hometown, Webster, NY where she was born and raised, and treat the community she grew up loving.

In her first year in a local private practice, Dr. Whipple pursued her interest in using light devices in ophthalmology, being the first and only physician in Rochester, NY to treat refractive dry eye.  Initial results demonstrated positive results with relief to many patients.  Dr. Whipple presented these findings at a specialty meeting in Las Vegas, this past fall.

In 2015, Dr. Whipple opened Envision Eye & Aesthetics, a practice based on her philosophy that “If you treat each patient as you would a loved one, you can’t go wrong.”  She believes each person is unique, so his or her health care should be too.

Every member of the Envision team believes in this philosophy, making it easy to take care of each patient by simply doing the right thing.  Put into practice, this concept has paved the way for adding new services at Envision Eye & Aesthetics: medical grade treatments, including facials, waxing, and brow shaping by licensed aesthetician, Amanda Phelps.

So whether your treatment is restorative or cosmetic, Dr. Whipple will personally sit with you to discuss all your options.  Then, together, you’ll decide on the optimal plan to achieve the best version of  you.  We look forward to working with you.
Amanda

Amanda Phelps is director of aesthetic medicine at Envision Eye & Aesthetics. She became a certified ophthalmic assistant in 2008, when she was introduced to all aspects of general optometry and ophthalmology. In 2013, she began working with Dr. Whipple. That’s when her eyes were opened (no pun intended) to the world of oculofacial plastic surgery -- the perfect combination of ophthalmology and aesthetics, Amanada’s other special interest. She studied and became a licensed aesthetician in 2014. Now she is doing what she loves, helping with Dr. Whipple in clinic and offering facials, brow shaping, and eyelash extensions, among other things.

One of Amanda’s gifts is her the ability to put patients to ease. Often Dr. Whipple will hear laughter coming from the clinic room she is in with a patient. But make no mistake, while Amanda makes people smile, she’s really focused on understanding why you came to Envision Eye & Aesthetics and how we can best help you.

Whether Amanda is working alongside Dr. Whipple in clinic or seeing you privately for an aesthetic treatment, the Envision Eye & Aesthetics values of efficiency, results, and respect hold true. Your treatments will be geared to see the real results you desire with the level of professionalism and discretion you deserve.

Amanda currently lives in Farmington, NewYork with her husband, Ryan, and their son, Owen, and dog, Wrigley.

Sandra

Sandra serves as a patient care specialist and merchandising representative. With education and fitness training in her background, Sandra’s communication skills are one of her best assets. She has worked alongside Dr. Whipple for greater than 2 years, catering to the special needs of oculoplastic paitents. Whether it’s due to a disease, an accident or the natural aging process, Sandra derives extreme pleasure from being a part of the reconstructive and aesthetic process. When patients leave the office, happy, renewed and, ready to face the world, she feels fulfilled. As a health and fitness enthusiast, Sandra has maintained a quality skincare regimen her entire adult life. Now, she enjoys educating patients and marketing superior, medical grade and natural skincare products.

In her spare time, you will likely find Sandra in a hockey rink cheering on her son Michael and his hockey team the Grizzlies. She also enjoys tutoring inner city elementary children in English, and her role as Youth Minister at her church. Sandra resides in Fairport, NY with her husband, Eric, and three sons, Kyle, Jacob and Michael.
Rosemary

Rosemary Whipple is a Registered Nurse and worked for more than 30 years between inpatient and outpatient oncology nursing. One of Rosemary’s best quality is her ability to communicate through actions, not just words. She understands the importance of holding a hand gently, helping you get your coat on, and checking to make sure you’re comfortable. It was why she was so wonderful at taking care of very sick patients for so many years. It is a very special job that takes a very special person to not only handle everything she saw, but to be a source of support to those patients during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Rosemary retired from oncology in January 2015, and has been helping Dr. Whipple since Envision Eye & Aesthetics was created -- actually, to be honest, she’s been helping Dr. Whipple since Dr. Whipple was BORN because she is HER MOM! So now you know who the REAL BOSS of Envision Eye & Aesthetics is!!!

Rosemary lives in Webster, New York with her husband, Bob, who she has been married to for more than 45 years. They have three grown children: Elizabeth, Benjamin, and Katherine, who all reside in Rochester. While all the kids have moved out, the house is still filled with energy and life from their dogs (Cody, Morgan, Lewis, Porter), cat (Tess), and horse (Leah).
